About the Auction
The annual SAPA “Blue Chip” Auction is scheduled for December 11, 2026. This auction is reserved for philatelic items with a catalog value of at least $20. The opening bid is set by the offeror and may be less than $20. Items with catalog values exceeding $1,500 have been sold at previous Blue Chip Auctions.
Submitting Lots
When and where
Submit all items to a member of the Club Board of Governors no later than the November 6 meeting. This allows time for an experienced club member to verify each lot’s catalog number, description, and catalog value.
Each member may submit up to 15 lots.
Questions? Contact Al Lozano, Vice President, at loz33@hotmail.com, or ask at any meeting.
List for each lot
- Catalog number
- Catalog value
- Year of the catalog used to determine the value

- Opening bid
Lots submitted with incomplete information may be rejected. If you are unsure of a lot’s description or identification, ask an experienced SAPA member for help before submitting it.
Lot Verification and Preview
Preview the verified lots
A list of every lot in the auction will be emailed to all SAPA members before the auction.
All verified lots will be on display at the November 20 and December 4 meetings, so members and other interested collectors can examine them before the auction.
Photographs of the lots will also be posted here and on the SAPA Facebook group.
Late submissions and unverified lots
Lots submitted on or after November 7 will still be accepted, but they may not be verified and may not be featured on the SAPA Facebook group or this website.
Unverified lots will be clearly identified as such during the auction and will be offered “as is.”
